--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As one of CAMS affiliated clubs in Western Australia, the South West Touring Car Club (SWTCC) continues with its reputation as one of the most active car clubs in the state.

The SWTCC was formed in 1973 and was originally known as the Blue & White Car Club which was founded three years earlier. The club has grown considerably from the 25 members involved with the club at its inception. We now have in excess of 100 racing members with additional family members as well.

In the early years, navigational rallies and the occasional motorkhana were the club's main focus. In 1975 the club ran its first state rally called TOCOAN (They Only Come Out At Night) which was a huge success.

Our clubs motor sport calendar is still flourishing. The club hosts a six round Autocross Series at its 1.1km track in Bunbury which is located approximately two hours south of Perth, behind the Bunbury speedway complex The popularity of the Autocross Series continues to be very well supported. Watch for the details in our calendar available on this site.

"Autocross is still very popular with more people having a go at building their own cars, adding an extra dimension to racing. Each month competitors return with improved vehicles and a little bit more experience under their belts. We are occasionally oversubscribed for events so it is a good idea to get your entries in as early as possible.

The South West Touring Car Club has always maintained a strong emphasis on family and social participation - this also helps to attract new members. Junior participation is actively encouraged and several families are now into their second or third generation of members. The club is also continually upgrading and improving member facilities.

The backbone of our clubs success continues to be its strong volunteer work ethic. If members are not competing at an event, they are encouraged to volunteer as an official. Without our volunteers we could not run our events.

Annual membership of the SWTCC costs only $40 for singles. Family membership is $60. If you would like more information on how to become a member of the SWTCC please contact one of the following people.
